How much does an AWS exam cost in 2026?

AWS charges by exam level: $100 for Foundational, $150 for Associate, and $300 for Professional or Specialty, per attempt. Taxes and local-currency pricing vary by country. What the changes mean for your booking

• The voucher is tied to the level, not the code. A Professional/Specialty voucher bought before November 17 still works for SAP-C03. You are not locked into the old exam.
• Do not book SAP-C02 or DVA-C02 unless you can sit the exam before the last date. After the cutoff, the old code disappears from the scheduler.
• MLA-C02 beta is the cheapest attempt at $75, but it is one shot and results take up to five business days. Pay the beta fee directly — do not burn a $135 Associate voucher on a $75 beta. If you want the standard exam, wait for January 14, 2027.
• ANS-C01 has no replacement. If you want a networking specialty, book it before December 31, 2026; otherwise spend the voucher on SCS-C03.
• MLS-C01 is retired. The listing is still sold as a tier-wide Professional/Specialty voucher, not as a route to the old Machine Learning Specialty certification.

Which AWS voucher should you buy?

Buy the level that matches the exam you plan to sit, not the Udemy course you happen to be studying. The voucher is not tied to a course or a single exam code, and buying the wrong level is expensive because vouchers are non-refundable.

How to buy and redeem an AWS exam voucher

Udemy sells the code; AWS owns the certification and Pearson VUE delivers the exam. Buying and booking are two separate steps — do them in this order.

1. Confirm the level and the current exam code. Use the table above. If the exam changes code before your test date, book the new code — the voucher still works.
2. Choose voucher-only or + Second Chance. Decide before checkout. Second Chance cannot be added later.
3. Pay on Udemy. A card or Udemy credits can be used; coupons do not apply to vouchers.
4. Copy the code from My learning → Certifications. Udemy also emails it, but your account is the source of truth. Keep the expiry date.

Second Chance is Udemy's retake assurance for AWS vouchers. It is not an AWS programme, and it is not a separate product you can buy after a failed attempt. You buy it with the original voucher.

1. Buy it with the original voucher. It cannot be added after checkout.
2. Take the first exam through Pearson VUE. Normal AWS scheduling and ID rules apply.
3. If you fail, claim it in My learning → Certifications. Do this before the original voucher expires.
4. Udemy verifies the result. A new voucher code usually arrives within seven days.
5. Book the retake with the new code. The replacement is valid for at least nine months from issuance.

The rules: one extra attempt only, non-refundable, non-transferable, and not refunded if you pass first time. Do not book the retake until the new code arrives.
